Mags skipped happily from fissure to fissure, becoming bolder and bolder as she dodged out of the steam escaping from the vents. Dom came to a fork in the path and hesitated for a moment. He chewed his lip, eyeing each direction, but he didn't know these paths well yet. Pulling out his phone, he opened the map app and thumbed his way through it mumbling, "I swear there was a way to go deeper into the pass..." Magnolia, now at peak bravery, stuck her entire nose into one of the vents. Not a moment later, there was a sharp squeal that echoed through the cavern as the little donkey flung herself backward. Charred hairs littered the front of her nose. A pair of angry Slugma eyes appeared from the fissure, staring daggers. Dom looked up from his phone and tutted. "Leave the poor thing alone, Mags."

She never had liked being scolded, but the Mudbray was taking this particular time harder than was really necessary. She hung her head, scraping her hooves along the ground as she sullenly followed Dom. He, meanwhile, was scrolling through the map app on his phone as he chewed his lip. "Ah, there," he said, zooming in on a small, unmarked path. "C'mon, Mags, this way." That was all it took to perk the little Mudbray up. Suddenly there was a pep in her step as she trotted off after Dom. Her vigor was so bright that it attracted the attention of a nearby Vulpix. The little fox tilted her head, then began to stomp off after the pair, imitating Magnolia's high-stepping trot. It wouldn't be until well into the cave that Dom would even realize he'd picked up an addition to his entourage.
